A wagging tail and fresh outdoor air: that’s the start of a wonderful vacation in Friesland with your dog. Our holiday park is located right on the IJsselmeer, close to the forests of Gaasterland. It’s a fantastic place to explore together, get some fresh air along the water, or seek out the shade of the forest. And after an active day outdoors, you’ll return to your own comfortable holiday home feeling satisfied.

Hiking through nature and the most beautiful off-lead areas

There’s plenty to discover in the area surrounding our park. From your accommodations, you can walk straight to the dike for a stroll along the water or head into the colourful forests. For a varied walk with your dog, there are three must-visit spots in the immediate vicinity:

    Oudemirdum Dog Park

    The closest off-lead area to our park. In this fenced-in wooded area, you can let your dog off the lead so it can run freely and play with other dogs.

    Elfbergen (Gaasterland)

    The largest forest in the region, with beautiful, centuries-old tree-lined avenues. Here you can stroll along winding paths where your dog can happily sniff around—on a lead in most areas.

    The Mirnser Klif

    A unique corner of Friesland where forest and water meet. Ideal for a walk along the beach by the IJsselmeer, where dogs can have a great time splashing around in the water during the off-season.
